2 of my favorite all the movies are : Beauty and the Beast and The Little Princess. They always make me cry and wish I was a princess! What makes these 2 girls different is that not only are they princesses, they are brave and adventures too!
An awesome movie that I just saw was The Queen (we rented itand it is excellent)! My all time favorite movie is 101 Dalmations. Thanks for doing this little contest, as I could really use a date night!
The most recent movie hubby and I saw was The Bucket List. It was a really good flick! My all time favorite classics are Footloose, Dirty Dancing, Sweet Home Alabama, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, A Walk To Remember to name a few.
I recently saw Enchanted and it has become one of my all time favorites! Can’t wait for the release on DVD so I can watch it again. I also love the Anne of Green Gables movies and anything Jane Austen
My hubby and I just rented Jane Austen Book Club. It was sweet and fairly clean. All time favorite movie…Pride and Prejudice. Kiera Knightly version is great, but if you have an all day sewing/craft project and like to watch something while you create, the Colin Firth miniseries is spectacular!
The last movie I saw in the theater was National Treasure 2–it was really good! But our favorite movies at home include Braveheart, the Jason Bourne movies, old John Wayne movies, and when the kids are with us–anything Disney and cartoony!
I haven’t sewed anything yet – but have a couple of things in the works that I can hopefully post before the deadline! My favorite all time movie to watch with the whole family is The Princess Bride, and my favorite recent movie is Stranger Than Fiction. I started to cringe at another Will Ferrell movie and more “boy humor”, but this one was so different and funny, and just a really great story done well. Oh, and Emma Thompson was in it too. And Dustin Hoffman. You’ve got to see it.
My hubby and I went to a movie last weekend, National Treasure 2, it was a lot of fun. I wish that we had more time for each other, as I am sure we all do! As you can imagine with five kids under 12 we don’t get out much, together and without kids!!!!
I tell people about the website all the time but they just say they are too busy to sew. Oh well, I LOVE YCMT.com and I love creating new things. I don’t get to see too many movies but… I love the 1960’s version of “Romeo & Juliet”. I enjoy the Slightly bawdy british romantic comedies like “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “Love Actually”. Anything Disney and animated is big on our DVD/Video player. “Lady and the Tramp” makes a good Valentine viewing. Has anyone else been enjoying the Masterpiece Theatre / Jane Austen series on PBS? Of course I can’t go through Valentine’s Day without watching “Be My Valentine Charlie Brown” !
Ok the movie that I just Love is “Second Hand Lions” This is the cutest movie and is for all ages. This is one wholesome feel good movies that anyone can enjoy. This is the movie that i always recommend and have yet to find someone who didn’t enjoy it! If you haven’t seen it yet go get it now and sit down with the family and Enjoy!
My all time favorite movie is Elf! Our family loves to watch this on our family night. Even though it is a Christmas Movie it is one to be watched all year. Nothing like a great laugh!!
A great and unforgettable movie is “The Notebook” Especially good for today, Valentines Day. Also I can’t remember the last movie I actually saw at the theaters! LOL!
Some of my all time favorite movies are…Little Women, Fried Green Tomatoes, Steel Magnolias, Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea, The Notebook, Annie, The Parent Trap (the original) and Pollyanna, Jerry Maguire, and A River Runs Through It. Guess you can tell I’m a big fan of the chick flicks! Can’t remember the last new movie I saw…it’s been ages!
I love reading all of your posts!! I’m going to be running these movies by DH….although he said that since we saw “27 dresses” last time, it was his turn to choose an action movie – lol! (but, I sure loved 27 dresses!)
Heather & Candice – I LOVE “Annie”! Reminds me of childhood. Those songs are timeless to me!
Brooke – I haven’t seen “Second Hand Lions” but have also heard great things about it. Will have to check that one out!
I LOVED “Enchanted!” Such a cute movie to take kids to.
Kelli – I just saw National Treasure 2 – loved it – still can’t believe I haven’t seen the first one!
Thanks everyone for telling your friends about YCMT, too! I know the authors and everyone here really appreciate that!! Your recommendation of our site means a lot.
I just got done reading Annie, Melanie’s, and Tiffany’s blogs! Thanks so much! Annie, you know I love your V-Strap Halter Top/Dress! And Tiffany, I can NOT believe you didn’t use a sewing machine 6 months ago…I would have never guessed. Your customs look awesome! And Melanie — 70 degree weather right now and miniature golfing with your kids? I am officially jealous! I’m surrounded by snow! What a fun day for your family!
OK, I’m off to read more of your posts. Thank you! Thank you!
We just seen Alvin & The Chipmunks a couple of weeks ago. Oh my gosh it was so CUTE!!
A Few Of my favorite movies are Purple Rain, Gone With The Wind and The Breakfast Club.
I just saw “Juno” with a good friend of mine and it’s definitely one to see. I also took my daughter to her 2nd movie (1st one was with her Omi and Opa,) and we saw “Enchanted,” which we both liked a lot. I still need to get my little ones hooked on “Annie.” That was my ALL TIME favorite movie from childhood. See, now I’m going to be humming “Tomorrow” all night!!
PS Annie I just clicked on your blog and saw you went to Emma Prusch Farm in San Jose!! I’m in the bay area too –we live really close! It’s a small world after all!
My all time favorite movie is Dirty Dancing!! I love it. My favorite movie I have seen in the theatre is “Bee Movie” (I only do kids movies since the babies were born! haha
After seeing the cute things made for my grandchildren my daughter has decided to dig out her machine and look up youcanmakethis.com !!! She is amazed at the endless possiblities found on your site.
I’m so glad to hear that Enchanted was good! I haven’t seen it yet but can’t wait to since I saw the previews for it. My husband and I recently watched Miss Potter about Beatrix Potter and we both loved it. A couple of our favorites here are the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and A Beautiful Mind.

OK, I thought I was the only closet Anne of Green Gables fan–turns out some of you gals are right there with me! I can even get my hubby to watch that series! He won’t watch Little Women anymore, though. There are at least 3 or 4 versions of that movie out there, and I have to watch every one.
My favorite date night movie? Don’t laugh–it’s The Full Monty. My favorite scene is the one where the guys are standing in line at the unemployment office, swaying to the music and then doing the “bump.” I laugh every time I see it!
You can leave your hats on girls (inside joke for those Full Monty fans)-have a great date night!
Oh my, sorry about my last post showing up twice I don’t know how that happened. I just have to say that I just ran into a friend who saw the purse I made for one of my friends with Kim’s Debut Purse-o-nality e-book. She LOVED the purse so much and wanted to know where I got the instructions for it, and I was so excited to tell her about this website. So I just sent the link to her through Tell A Friend.
My favorite movie of all time is Grease. I could watch it over and over and over!!! I just found this site last week and have spent hours checking it out. So much fun, so much to see and do!
My husband and I just saw The Bucket List. It is a GREAT movie-of course I cried, but this one is definitely good for both men and women.
My all time favorite movie is StepMom-if you’ve seen it, the best part is the restaurant scene when the two moms are having that “big” conversation. Of course, I cried again…
Thanks for posting, Tom! We have a brand new theater in our town–stadium seating, the whole works. Will we ever get to see a movie there? Well, we’re pretty sure we’ll be dropping the girls off there a number of times. Maybe we’ll sneak in.
One of my favorite movies by far is “Now and Then” I could watch it over and over and I cannot wait until the day my daughter is old enough to join it with me! (She’s only 6 months old HAHA!)
I love this site and I think I have told about EVERY Mom I know about it!
I spend hours just looking at the designs and the “I did it” pages!
One of my all time fav’s is 50 First Dates w/Drew Barrymore & Adam Sandler. So funny & really a great love story! Another great one (not for little ones) is Tommy Boy…HOUSEKEEPING! LOL! (You Chris Farley and/or David Spade fans will get that “inside” joke) Good stuff!
My favorite movie to rent for a date night is “Sabrina”, the one with Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear and Julia Ormond. It is my all time favorite romantic comedy. I could watch it over and over! Unfortunately the last few movies I have seen in the theater have all been of the animated variety! A night out with just the hubby would be divine!
I have several favorite movies – one of my most recent is Shall We Dance – loved it! I also love An American President, BeetleJuice, and my Niece and I always watch Shirley Temple movies. We’ve done that since she was a bout 3. Her favorite is Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm and also Baby take a Bow. LOL, she is 13 now, and surprised me on her last visit by still wanting to watch them!
I went to see the Enchanted movie with my daughter. It is really cute. Oh and No Reservations (it was great). I am really looking forward to Fool’s Gold, I love the 2 actors other movie. I believe it was How to Lose A Guy in 10 days.
I recently saw National Treasure 2 and it was great! My all time favorites are Sweet Home Alabama, and Hope Floats. I like to watch chick flicks and sometimes action movies.
Personally I love the ever-so-cheesy make you laugh, make you cry, make you want to snuggle with your honey movies. But usually I find these aren’t so great for a date night, because my husband usually doesn’t enjoy them as much as I do, he pretty much just tolerates them. So one movie that he actually did enjoy was Good Luck Chuck. It’s a bit racy, but that’s why he liked it. There is probably a good half hour of steamy scenes he enjoyed, (women find out if they sleep with him the next week they’ll find Mr. Right and get married, so naturally tons of women want him) and then when he finds the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with it turns into the cute date movie that I enjoy. So he gets some entertainment and I did too.
But don’t say I didn’t warn you the beginning is a bit raunchy!
~k
This is a record, I saw another movie this year. Last year I saw 2 movies in the theatre TOTAL. My hubby picked Definitely, Maybe because he likes Ryan Reynolds and I LOVED LOVED it. Very sweet movie.
Hey this isn’t exactly the place to post this, but I just had an idea. Maybe you could have a post in the blog where we can ask and answer sewing questions for each other, like how to do something, fix something, problems with techniques, etc.
Or maybe you already have something like this and I am in the dark… that happens a lot too.
~k
Well, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE It’s a Wonderful Life! We watch it every year and it always touches me over and over again!! And that saying has become one of our family’s favorite phrases!!
I am loving this site!
My favorite movie is The Sound of Music.
I have shared this site with 2 friends, but will be
sharing w/many more in the very near future.
Thank You for all of the sewing opportunities
this site brings to all of us.
JG
My all-time favorite movies are The Thomas Crown Affair, Sweet Home Alabama, Pretty Woman and The Phantom of the Opera. I think these are great date movies. There are plenty more out there though! I love romantic comedy movies. I’m not much into the sci-fi or scary types but I love comedy and can even go for the action once in a while. Good luck picking out some new flicks to watch!
Oh I forgot a movie, The best movie ever is called Strictly Ballroom. It is from Australia and it is about, you guessed it, Ballroom Dance! So good, funny, touching. Great movie to watch when you need a girls night with the popcorn and M&M’s
I sent a link to 6 friends!!!
We just went to see Veggie tales new movie, “the Pirates who don’t do anything! Cute, Loved it!
Recently we rented Amazing Grace, loved it.
I LOVE Anne girl too!!!!
Oh my gosh…what I wouldn’t do for a date night!!! The last movie my husband and I saw at a theater was “The Grinch” — that was probably more than 6 years ago (before 2 kiddos)!!!
My favorite girly movies to rent & watch alone or with my sister are “Love Actually” and “Ever After”! With the kids it’s anything Disney and the hubby prefers the old ones like the “Indiana Jones” or “Back to the Future” series and the newer “Bourne” trilogies!
I just love independent films! My husband and I used to live within walking distance of a quirky little cinema. We would routinely stroll downtown for a romantic dinner and a movie. Ahhh, those were the days! Anyway, some of my faves that come to mind are Best in Show, Muriel’s Wedding, Billy Elliot, Kitchen Stories, Eat-Drink-Man-Woman, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Oh Brother Where Art Though, and Saving Grace.
I tell everyone about YCMT.com! I just love this site. So please enter me in the contest for everyone I’ve told, which is everyone I know. Just kidding.
We just watched a movie a week or two ago that was wonderful. It is called STARDUST, and it was totally a surprise to me. I had not heard of it, and it is sort of a fairytale story and was so great. It had Claire Danes in it, and Michelle Pfeiffer. Watch it! It’s a cute movie. You’ll be glad you did!
Being a Southern gal….My favorite movie of all time is Gone with the Wind. I love Scarlett O’Hara. I have a huge portrait of her over my fireplace that my mother gave me. I also love SIxteen Candles and Top Gun. On the cheesy side….I love Encino Man. I could watch those movies over and over and they never get old.
My favorite movie of all time would have to be “Harold and Maude” from 1971. I first saw it in college in the early 1990’s and it is a classic. A little off the wall, but very original! (“Return to Me” with David Duchovny and Minnie Driver & “Bridget Jones’s Diary” would be tied for second.)
I hope to sew some cute clothes from YCMT patterns soon for my two little girls (who keep from going “out” to the movies).
YCMT has the absolute cutest pattern creators selling on the site. I love it!
My all time favorite movies are An affair to remember with Carey Grant, Beauty and the Beast (Disney), and Yours, Mine and Ours (the original version). I love old movies. Especially with Carey Grant, Audrey Hepburn.
We just rented “Stardust” and loved it. It is a little like “The Princess Bride”. We had not heard much about it so it was one of those movies that surprises you that it is so good.
If you’re wanting to go “out” to the movies, “FOOL’s GOLD” was a very good date movie. My husband and I both enjoyed it. Not only was it the romantic comedy type that I like, it had plenty of action and drama that he liked as well. We both enjoyed the movie.
I referred one very dear friend to this site. She is recently divorced and would benefit from a site like this that will empower her to use her talents to not only make beautiful items but to boost her self esteem by being productive.
My favorite movie of all time is the musical State Fair. I have to admit that Hitch, Wedding Crashers and Knocked Up are pretty darn hilarious, though!!
I just saw No Reservations…..it was such a good movie—but a tear jerker for sure……..as far as romantic comedy’s go, Sweet Home Alabama is my favorite……favorite movie ever has to be Interview with the Vampire…..Who can resist Brad Pitt with long hair?
I love this site! I just finished the stripework ribbon top for my 14 month old. I had enough fabric left over I made her a matching stripe work purse. I’ve enjoyed your site and my ebooks so much I’m always telling people about your site. Moments ago I sent a friend links and pictures of different ebooks for boys you have. After two girls she is looking for cute creative ideas for for her first son. I drop your address to my mom all the time. My hope is she will decided to make my daughter some outfits from YCMT. Hehehe… so far it hasn’t worked I’ll have to keep working on it. =) Dare someone mention crafts to me I’m directing them to your site.
Here’s a discussion board we were talking about crafts and YCMT on. http://www.fertilichat.com/showthread.php?p=382446#post382446
Keep the great ebooks coming!
Also, if you like comedy, I just saw Shallow Hal and it was actually pretty cute. My hubbie chose it and I thought I was doomed to watching a “guy movie” but we both enjoyed this one.
Let me tell ya! I could really use a date might with my dh! Poor guy thinks I have abandoned him because all I do is sew all day and night…and weekend too! LOL!
I have lots of favorite movies but I really love “The Shawshenk Redemption”. It’s not a good movie for little ones…but if you have teens it is really a good movie.
Synopsis:
In writer-director Frank Darabont’s THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison for the murders of his wife and her lover in the late 1940s. However, only Andy knows that he didn’t commit the crimes. Sent to Shawshank Prison to do hard time; Andy’s quiet strength slowly earns the respect of his fellow inmates–most notably, Red (Morgan Freeman)–and even much of the prison staff. But Andy’s seemingly stoic acceptance of his unjust imprisonment hides a fierce determination for freedom. This beautifully crafted movie features touching and sincere performances from the entire cast, with an uplifting message about humanity’s indomitable spirit and the redemptive value of hope.
This movie is easily one of the finest films of the 1990s.
You will love it! And it is a great movie for dh’s too–not a chick flick and not Disney! LOL!

Love this site! Have told several people about it.
Kuddos to all the designers out there! You make your patterns easy to follow. Even for this Dad that makes clothing for his little princess.
My wife and I haven’t been to a movie in years. Unless it was a “kiddie movie”. LOL!
It would be nice to have a date night out!
February 16, 2008 at 6:23 pm
My husband and I just saw The Bucket List. It is a GREAT movie-of course I cried, but this one is definitely good for both men and women.
My all time favorite movie is StepMom-if you’ve seen it, the best part is the restaurant scene when the two moms are having that “big” conversation. Of course, I cried again…

Yay–we have a DADDY on our list!

February 18, 2008 at 3:28 pm
One of my all time fav’s is 50 First Dates w/Drew Barrymore & Adam Sandler. So funny & really a great love story! Another great one (not for little ones) is Tommy Boy…HOUSEKEEPING! LOL! (You Chris Farley and/or David Spade fans will get that “inside” joke) Good stuff!
February 18, 2008 at 5:33 pm
My favorite movie to rent for a date night is “Sabrina”, the one with Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear and Julia Ormond. It is my all time favorite romantic comedy. I could watch it over and over! Unfortunately the last few movies I have seen in the theater have all been of the animated variety! A night out with just the hubby would be divine!
February 18, 2008 at 9:22 pm
I have several favorite movies – one of my most recent is Shall We Dance – loved it! I also love An American President, BeetleJuice, and my Niece and I always watch Shirley Temple movies. We’ve done that since she was a bout 3. Her favorite is Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm and also Baby take a Bow. LOL, she is 13 now, and surprised me on her last visit by still wanting to watch them!

This is a record, I saw another movie this year. Last year I saw 2 movies in the theatre TOTAL. My hubby picked Definitely, Maybe because he likes Ryan Reynolds and I LOVED LOVED it. Very sweet movie.
February 19, 2008 at 10:56 pm
Hey this isn’t exactly the place to post this, but I just had an idea. Maybe you could have a post in the blog where we can ask and answer sewing questions for each other, like how to do something, fix something, problems with techniques, etc.
Or maybe you already have something like this and I am in the dark… that happens a lot too.

February 20, 2008 at 2:28 pm
I just told my best friend about you! She is wanting to get some things started for craft fairs so she will be a good customer! I LOVE your site!

February 20, 2008 at 9:05 pm

February 22, 2008 at 10:55 pm
Being a Southern gal….My favorite movie of all time is Gone with the Wind. I love Scarlett O’Hara. I have a huge portrait of her over my fireplace that my mother gave me. I also love SIxteen Candles and Top Gun. On the cheesy side….I love Encino Man. I could watch those movies over and over and they never get old.
February 23, 2008 at 9:39 pm
My favorite movie of all time would have to be “Harold and Maude” from 1971. I first saw it in college in the early 1990’s and it is a classic. A little off the wall, but very original! (“Return to Me” with David Duchovny and Minnie Driver & “Bridget Jones’s Diary” would be tied for second.)
I hope to sew some cute clothes from YCMT patterns soon for my two little girls (who keep from going “out” to the movies).
YCMT has the absolute cutest pattern creators selling on the site. I love it!

If you’re wanting to go “out” to the movies, “FOOL’s GOLD” was a very good date movie. My husband and I both enjoyed it. Not only was it the romantic comedy type that I like, it had plenty of action and drama that he liked as well. We both enjoyed the movie.
February 25, 2008 at 6:29 pm
I referred one very dear friend to this site. She is recently divorced and would benefit from a site like this that will empower her to use her talents to not only make beautiful items but to boost her self esteem by being productive.

February 27, 2008 at 1:52 pm

LOL!
